Board of Directors
Our board of directors are responsible for organisational governance, legal and strategic oversight as a not for profit entity.
The Institute Council also plays a key governance role, and on certain matters, where there is disagreement between Council and Board, it will go to the full membership for deliberation and decision making.

Bea Rogan (Chair)
Bea is a community practitioner and enabler with a commitment to community, organisational enhancement and social change.
Patricia Ferrier (Treasurer)
Trish's career in the community sector has focussed on environmental issues and community development; Working with others to create change. Her work with local and state government provides valuable insight into policy making and community consultation.
Helen Betts
Helen has worked across government and social policy and has spent the last 20 years teaching Community Development at Griffith University.
Carmel Daveson AM (Secretary)
Carmel supports people with lived experiences to identify and find creative solutions to community issues. She has facilitated the formation of a range of organisations which enable people to have a voice in decision-making and to work together for social change.
Jaya Manchikanti
Jaya is an experienced community development practitioner and is keen on inclusive practice. She has worked across a range of not-for-profit organisations, state and local governments and is currently completing her PhD while leading some Boards.
Ian Hope (Company Secretary)
Ian brings a wealth of experience with community organisations, giving him a practical understanding of their inner workings, particularly in financial management and governance. Ian's expertise is grounded in real-world experience, learning from past mistakes, giving him valuable insights into what truly works.
Caro Mader
Caro teaches community development at Adelaide University, has worked in government and consulting, and co-convenes the Adelaide Community Development Collective
